Michelle Tanner believes the best strategy for water conservation is a market based approach. Studies indicate that using price mechanisms for higher water use is far more effective at encouraging conservation than heavy handed arbitrary government mandates.

Michelle Tanner recognizes that although conservation is important, we will not be able to conserve our way out of a drought. It is vital that we are utilizing innovative ideas for water reuse, potential desalination, primary water resources, increased water storage through reservoirs, and be forward thinkers on securing additional water supply. Michelle Tanner believes we must be responsible and transparent in terms of growth and what our natural resources can adequately supply.
